Spring is inherently a time of rebirth, renewal and increased vitality. After a long winter of diminished sunlight and fresh air combined with a diet rich in heavy foods and hard-to-digest proteins, our bodies have built up unwanted toxins (and perhaps a little extra belly fat, too) that bogs down the digestive system.
This Fiesta Kale Salad recipe came to me towards the end of Om Point's 21 Day Yoga Detox. (I suppose I started dreaming about tasty food combinations and knew that I would have a good reason to celebrate soon enough!) My goal for my very first kale salad post-cleanse was to have it be oil-free.

I. Love. Garlic. There isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t use it in some form or fashion. I’ve been a garlic addict for years, which got me thinking about whether there might be a correlation to the fact that my family and I seem to skate through cold and flu season every year unscathed. I honestly can’t think of the last time I had a cold and I’m pretty sure I’ve never had the flu. I’m also happy to say my 6-year-old hasn’t either.
If you're just joining us for our 21 Day Yoga Detox, we're on Day 10 and... so far, so good! I must admit I was on a bit of an emotional roller coaster during the first week (PMS, anyone?), but things have started to smooth out considerably over the past two days.
