Pose of the Week - Parivrtta Anjaneyasana (Revolved Lunge Pose)

Revolved Lunge Twist

This week's pose combines two seemingly opposite actions: twisting and balancing. It is a challenging pose that builds focus, strength and balance. Parivrtta Anjaneyasana has a few aliases i.e. “Revolving Crescent Lunge,” “Warrior Twist,” “Twisting Lunge,” or “Revolved Lunge Twist”. This pose engages the entire body as the torso twists and compresses your internal organs for detoxification. The chest, shoulders and arms are also open with the twisting action. Your legs, hips and butt are stretched and toned as you work on improving your balance. The release of the twist flushes the body with oxygen-rich blood to optimize the digestive and lymphatic system. This pose leaves you feeling renewed with energy and confidence.
