This week's pose combines two seemingly opposite actions: twisting and balancing. It is a challenging pose that builds focus, strength and balance. Parivrtta Anjaneyasana has a few aliases i.e. “Revolving Crescent Lunge,” “Warrior Twist,” “Twisting Lunge,” or “Revolved Lunge Twist”. This pose engages the entire body as the torso twists and compresses your internal organs for detoxification.
This pose is named after Virabhadra, a powerful and fierce warrior who was an incarnation of Shiva.
We love to practice Virabhadrasana II because it makes you feel like a spiritual warrior. This pose allows you to stand strong in who you are with confidence, determination and most of all, grace.
